GSM Around The World with Moon River Distributing
April 16th, 2021 at 4-6pm
GSM are the initials for a type of wine blend. The acronym “GSM” is a short-hand reference for a red wine blended from Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvedre. GSM wines are known for their bright fruit, extroverted aromas of ripe fruit, dried sage and herbs, and a grippy, pepper-and-herb finishes that echoes the wines’ aroma. Typical of the Rhone Region of France, come taste some different interpretations of this classic blend from other regions.
As we get ready for Spring and Summer, we are looking forward to hosting FREE wine tasting events in our taproom. In order to safely have these events, we will be limiting the amount of customers for each event.
Our first one will be Saturday, April 17th at 3:00pm in the afternoon. We will be tasting the following wines and each of them will be available for sale. Please reserve your spot and we look forward to seeing you!
What We're Tasting
92 Pts James Suckling
It is a blend of Garnacha Tintorera (a.k.a. Alicante Bouschet), Syrah and Monastrell, coming from young grapevines planted at 600 metres of altitude. It opens with fresh strawberries, blueberries, marionberries and violets. Delightful, firm tannin bite on the palate, which is medium in body but very solid in its delivery of refreshing acidity. This savoury wine from Valencia is full of Mediterranean character.
97 Pts Decanter Magazine
This is delicious! Very classy and appealing aromas of flowers, garrigue, spice and forest floor. On the palate sweet vanilla oak marries into the charming and svelte herbal, red and blue fruit mix. It’s full of flavour, super supple, super drinkable and authentic. Bouquet, taste, finish: all are magnificent!

Aromatic and fruit driven; plum preserves, caramelized blueberry, brushed rosemary and crushed clove greet the nose. The palate is pleasant and plush, offering polished tannin and a soft spoken acidity. Nuanced tokens of baked blackberry and stewed strawberry lead while sweet spearmint and hints of Earl Grey Tea linger.
Blend: 48% Mourvèdre, 25% Syrah, 18% Grenache, 9% Petit Verdot

57% Mourvèdre, 43% Grenache
Opulent flavors of sun-ripe strawberry, fresh watermelon and white peach nectar. Fruit forward aromatics may convey a perception of sweetness; however this dry rose is clean and refreshing on the palate delivering hints of candied papaya, red grapefruit and blood orange zest reminiscent of pink lemonade.
